LAKSHMIPUR, Dec 7: An additional deputy commissioner of Lakshmipur and a former acting civil surgeon of the district have reached a compromise after their much-discussed brawl which led to a three-month jail sentence of the latter.
ADC Shaikh Murshidul Islam, now an officer on special duty or OSD, considered as punishment of civil servants in Bangladesh, and Salah Uddin Sharif, the doctor who was later acquitted, shook hands and hugged each other after a meeting between the administrative officials and doctors at Lakshmipur Circuit House on Thursday.
Sharif said they removed the 'differences' between them so that services to the people do not get hampered.
Murshidul said, "We came to know each other genuinely when the incident was exaggerated. But the situation got out of our control by the time. "However, we now know and understand each other. We've forgotten the incident for the sake of Lakshmipur's development," he said.
