Rajshahi: The authorities of Rajshahi University (RU) have expelled two teachers from examination related activities for 10 years over preparing controversial questions in the admission test under the Fine Arts Faculty.

The decision was taken at the 474th syndicate meeting of the university on Wednesday night, sources in the syndicate said.

The expelled teachers are : Fine Arts Faculty Dean Mostafizur Rahman and member of the question paper formulating committee Zillur Rahman Titon.

Mostafizur Rahman has also been removed from his post as faculty dean while Zillur Rahman’s promotion as associate professor will be withheld for five years.

On October 25, there were two controversial questions in the second set of  multiple choice questions
(MCQs) in ‘I’ unit admission test under the faculty.

The incident led the RU authorities to form a four-member committee to probe the matter.

At the same meeting, a 9th batch student of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of the university, Nahid Haider, was also expelled for assaulting his teacher Professor Dr. Hasnat Ali on September 25.
