12 Jamaat women arrested in Rajshahi

Rajshahi: Police have arrested 12 women activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from Belghoria area in the city.

Acting on a tip-off, a police raided a house in the area around 7:00pm on Wednesday and nabbed the women when they were holding a secret meeting, said Motihar Police Station officer in-charge Mehedi Hasan.

They were sent to jail following a court order on Thursday, the OC added.
Jihaid books written by former Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Ghulam Azam,  Nayeb-e-Ameer Mawlana Delwar Hossain Sayeedi and some leaflets were seized from their possessions.
