Man killed over land dispute in Rajshahi

A man was killed over a land dispute in Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Ali Akbar, 60, hailed from Rakshitpara village of the upazila.

Quoting locals, Bagmara Police Station OC Nasim Ahmed said Akbar had a long standing dispute over the ownership of a piece of land with Muchon Ali of the village.

On Wednesday afternoon, Akbar called some local men to his house to show the documents of the land which he recently won following court verdict.

At that time, a group of people led by Muchon Ali swooped on Akbar's house, leaving seven family members including Akbar injured.

The injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and a local hospital where Akbar died at 10pm.
