PM talks to Sophia

A remarkable conversation took place between the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sophia, the humanoid robot on Wednesday following the PM's inauguration of Bangladesh's largest tech event 'Digital World, 2017' expo at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital.
The two met onstage after the inaugural session. The Hanson Robotics creation was called to the stage soon after the Prime Minister Hasina inaugurated the event. Sophia wore a Jamdani top and a skirt and the Prime Minister also wore a yellow-color saree. The two then conversed in English.
During the conversation, Sophia informed that the granddaughter of the Prime Minister and her name were the same.
Sophia came up with the comment while the PM asked her how does she recognize Sheikh Hasina?
In reply, Sophia said, "Well, I have read and learned of you. I also know that you are the leader and daughter of the great leader and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. You are also called the Mother of Humanity and the one who envisioned Digital Bangladesh."
The Prime Minister that time told the audience that maybe they all knew that her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy's daughter's name is Sophia.
In a lighter vein, the Prime Minister said, "This is the era of grandsons and daughters."
Prior to that, the Prime Minister asked, "hello Sophia, how are you?"
Sophia answered that she was fine and it was her pleasure to meet with the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister then asked, "What do you know about Digital Bangladesh?"
Sophia replied, "You would be glad to know that I have learned great things about your vision of Digital Bangladesh and digitalized Bangladesh will have more developed human resources, establish effective connectivity leading to development in the ICT industry while ensuring a more assured e-governance."
"Digital Bangladesh was initiated in 2009 with the vision of digitizing every sector of the economy, bringing in 5 billion dollars in ICT exports and creating 2 million jobs. In this short time, we have seen numerous human resources capacity building initiatives, digitizing all the citizen services of the government ministries and organizations." Sophia added.
Sophia then expressed how excited she was to attend Digital World 2017, one of the largest ICT events in South Asia.
The conversation was also quite enjoyable to the audience who had been present at the programme and other viewers.
Sophia, who generated quite a buzz among the youth and the artificial intelligence industry around the world, revealed a lot about the PM, her government's digital policy and Bangladesh in over a three-minute conversation with the prime minister.
Sophia, resembles Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn, also interacted with visitors at the expo from at the afternoon at 3:00pm.
During the session 'Techtalk with Sophia', she was expected to take few questions from visitors but it was not possible as she did not allow outcry of the visitors inside the Hall of Fame at the BICC.
Her creator, David Hanson, also delivered a speech at the end of the session.
When talking to the Daily Observer, Sophia's creator David Hanson said, "Sophia is like my child."
Hanson also said that at least 30 humanoid robot was created.
"It was my childhood dream and it is just the beginning for more to come" Hanson said.
