Women's rights will be implemented step by step: JU VC

Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr. Farzana said equal rights of woman will be implemented step by step as fast as all types of repression on women are be stopped.

JU VC came up with this remark at a gathering on ‘Anti-Sexual Assault and Rape’ marking the International Women Repression Prevention Fortnight on Wednesday.  

Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP) in collaboration with JU Students’ Welfare and Counselling center organized the programme at JU Central Shahid Minar premises.  

Dr. Farzana urged to raise awareness in the society against rape, sexual assault and all types of discrimination of women.

The programme, presided over by BMP Savar unit President Parvin Islam, was addressed by its International Affairs Secretary Rekha Saha, JU Students' Welfare and Counseling Center Director professor Rasheda Akhter and associate professor of Government and Politics department Shamsunnahar Khanam, among others.

JU teachers, students, officials and representatives of JU Women Club were present at the gathering.
