Saudi citizen 'Sophia' arrives in Dhaka without passport
When a citizen of any country needs passport and visa to visit a foreign country, Saudi citizen 'Sophia' came here without any passport.
'Sophia', landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at about 12:39am on Tuesday.
The Saudi citizen known as 'Sophia is the world's first artificially intelligent robot.
It will appear in public at the first day of the four-day Digital World Exposition that begins Wednesday at Banganandhu International Conference Centre in the city.
The creator of the first ever social robot, David Hanson, was also invited to the programme.
Visitors can meet Sophia on the opening day of the festival on the event titled ‘Talk With Sophia' at the Hall of Fame from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The creator of the AI robot, David Hanson, also will be there, said a press release.

Sophia is capable of expressing her feelings with laughter and anguish, anger and pride. If someone talks with her, she tries to understand the person. She thinks of the world, culture and philosophy.
Also, Sophia has spoken in Bangla. In fact, she is also very excited about coming to Bangladesh. Recently, in a 31-second video message she greeted the people of the country and expressed her excitement.
Hong Kong-based firm Hanson Robotics has created her in the image of actress Audrey Hepburn. Sophia was activated on April 19, 2015. On October 11 of this year, she was brought in front of public. She got citizenship of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently.
Sophia was given Saudi citizenship earlier this year, making her the first robot ever to get such a status from a country.
