Police in a drive arrested one of the accused in a case filed in connection with the killing of Manarat International University student Nasim Uddin from Comilla district early Wednesday.

Officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station Quazi Wazed Ali told media that police arrested Ashik, 21, an accused in the case, from Comilla.

Nasim Uddin, 24, a third-year BBA student of Manarat University, was stabbed to death by some miscreants on November 6 in city's Badda area.

Family members said Nasim, son Saif Uddin Ahmed, had an altercation with a local boy Ramzan over betting on a cricket match on November 5.

Nasim might have been killed over the altercation, he said.
