4 more fake admission seekers held in JU

The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Tuesday detained another four fake admission seekers on Tuesday during the viva-voce of admission in 2017-18 session.

The detainees are :  Yasin Arafat from Mymmensing district, Parvez Ahmed from Gazipur, Rakib Hossain from Munsiganj and Abu Rayhan from Natore district.

The cheating was revealed when interviewers cross-checked the hand-writings of the examinees comparing with that of written exam papers.

Yasin Arafat secured 5th position while Parvez Ahmed 155th, Rakib Hossain 58th and Abu Rayhan got 13th position in C unit.

JU Proctor Professor Tapan Kumar Saha said, "After interrogation, we confirmed that they secured position at the entry test using proxies."

A case was filed with the Ashulia Police Station in this connection.

Earlier, nine fake examinees were held on same allegation on Sunday and Monday.
