Bangladesh U-19 trounce Malaysia

Bangladesh U-19 Cricket Team started their mission in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup with an exciting win against their Nepal counterpart. On Monday, the young Tigers trashed the host Malaysia securing a dominating 262 runs' victory riding on the willow of skipper Saif Hasan and Towhid Hridoy at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur.
With the win Bangladesh are now leading the Group-A with four points in two matches while India and Nepal have two points each.
Winning the toss, Malaysia sent Bangladesh U-19 to bat first and the young Tigers scored huge 335 runs for six wickets riding on the willows of skipper Saif Hasan and Towhid Hridoy. In pursuit, Malaysia could score only 73 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs.
Chasing the huge target, Malaysia struggled from the very beginning. They lost their wickets at regular intervals. Bangladesh bowlers bowled brilliantly. Shakhawat Hossain hauled three wickets while Afif took two wickets. Nayeem Hasan conceded only eight runs in 10 overs while skipper Saif took one wickets for seven runs in nine overs.
Malaysia skipper Virandeep Singh was the only batter who could reach double digits. He scored the highest 46 runs while the second highest was only eight runs.
Earlier, the starting of the young Tigers was not better. They lost their opener Naim Sheikh (13) with the team total of 31. Adding five runs more on the board they lost the other opener Pinak Ghosh (12).
Then skipper Saif Hasan and Towhid Hridoy inked a mesmerising stand for the third wicket stand. The duo assisted 192 runs off 208 balls to anchor the innings.
Saif missed a ton for just 10 runs as he walked off scoring 90 runs off 103 balls with five fours and three sixes.
Though Saif missed his ton, Towhid made it and added a precious 46 runs with Afif Hossain. Towhid returned after scoring a ball each 120 runs hitting seven fours and four sixes. In the lower order, Aminul Islam scored 39 off just 17 balls that helped to score 335 runs.
For Malaysia, Muhammad Hafiz hauled four wickets. Towhid Hridoy was named man of the match for his brilliant bowling.
However, Bangladesh will take on India today in their third match.
