O glass!
Sometimes empty
or sometimes full
and sometimes half empty
or even half full--
Quenching thirst, rejuvenating life,
inside sometimes winks the remains of
a quenched thirst.
Thirst for water -- let it be quenched.
Grief and disorder -- let it be drowned.
Liquids of all fill the emptiness.
How fine a sight:
A glass that is full!
Empty glass! Empty of life!
When filled to the brim,
it pours delight.
Empty glass! Put it away.
Bring another one.
Let's get the party on the way!
