Boat capsize in Meghna: Bodies of two fishermen recovered

NOAKHALI, July 2: Locals recovered bodies of two fishermen among three from the Meghna River near Thengarchar under Hatia upazila here on Saturday morning after they drowned in a boat capsize in the river on Wednesday last.
The bodies were identified as Arif, 25, and Alauddin, 28. The body of Masud, 26, another fisherman, was not found. All of them hail from Hatia upazila.
Locals said 16 fishermen went to catch fish in the Meghna River along with a boat MV Parvin from Chairman Ghat under Boyarchar in the upazila on Wednesday last. As the boat capsized during a storm, 13 fishermen except the three managed to swim to the shore.
Later, from the capsized boat, the bodies of two fishermen were recovered but one remained missing.
