Underdog Arambagh Krira Sangha confirmed the ticket to the semi-finals of the ongoing Walton Federation Cup Football-2016 with a 5-4 win over strong Sheikh Jamal DC Ltd in the tie-breaker at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on Friday.
The stipulated time was saw a 2-2 draw on the day as the Bengal yellows finished the first half with a two-goal lead when the Arambagh boys completely repaid them in the second half.
It was not an easy matter for Arambagh to beat such a team like Sheikh Jamal who are not only the defending champions but also the two-time title holder of the tournament.
In the stipulated time, Lincoln and Wedson scored for Sk Jamal in the 42nd and 45th minute while Yoko Samnick and Kester Akon scored for Arambagh in the 61st and 69th minute.
Issah Yusuf, Asaduzzaman Palash, Abdul Hamid, Kester Akon and Monsur Amin hit the net for Arambagh in the penalty shootout while at the same stage Wedson, Ameka Darlington, Landing,Yeasin Khan scored for Sk Jamal.
Arambagh boys began celebrating their Federation Cup semi-finals when their Mitul Hasan succeeded to score the match winning goal in the sudden death.
Earlier, Sheikh Jamal began the tournament with a 6-2 big margin win over Uttar Baridhara and beat Brothers Union by 2-1 margin. Arambagh KC, on the other hand, beat Abahani Ltd by 1-0 margin in the first group match and held Soccer Club in a 1-1 margin in the second match.

Sk Russel takes on Rahmatganj today
Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, the Bengal blues, will take on Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society, the giant killers, in the second quarterfinals of the event today (Saturday) at 3:45pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
