SUST protests N’ganj teacher's humiliation

Sylhet : A group of students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Tuesday protested against the humiliation of a school teacher in presence of a ruling  party MP in Narayanganj.

Students from different departments stood holding their ears in front of SUST central library at noon to seek apology to the humiliated teacher.

Protesting the incident and demanding punishment to those involved with such offence, Sagarika Chowdhury, a masters student of English department, said such incidents will only accelerate the degradation of social morality.”

“We, on the behalf of the society must say sorry to the teacher,” she said.

Shyamal Kanti Bhakta, the head teacher of Piyar Sattar Latif  High School in Narayanganj was beaten up and made to do sit-ups holding his ears in the presence of local MP AKM Salim Osman recently.
