Woman killed in Jessore road accident

JESSORE, Apr 30: A woman was killed and six others were injured in a road accident on the Jessore-Jhenidah road at Churamankathi-Satmile area under Sadar upazila here on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Hasina Begum, 40, wife of Liakat Ali of Baulia-Chandpara village in the upazila.
Of the injured, Hamida, 45, wife of Aslam Hossen and Rokeya Begum, 62, wife of Abdur Rashid and a Quran trainer as per scientific means of the same village, were admitted to Jessore 250-Bed General Hospital. Others were treated locally.
Quoting relatives, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jessore Kotwali Model Police Station Ilias Hossen said that on their way to Jessore from a Quran training centre in Jhenidah, their three-wheeler collided with a motorcycle at the said area, leaving one dead on the spot and six others injured.
