Chittagong Abahani, the team of port city, registered a 2-0 win against Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra in their first melee of Group-A in the KFC Independence Cup Football-2016 on Tuesday notwithstanding the depression regarding the five players who would not play due to court order.
Earlier on Monday, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld the interim order of the High Court Division after resolving the leave to appeal of the Bangladesh Football Federation.
Thus, the Eight-booter would not be able to take part in the tournament for any club but Sheikh Jamal. Five booters among the eight booters had signed for Chittagong during the player transfer who were expected to enrich the Chittagong tent on the field. But, the port city team is now a crestfallen team.
Chittagong fans were afraid that they were going to hear some bad news after the match. However, the club win the match.
Both of the goals came from two foreign players.
The first goal was scored in the 30th minute of the match with their Moroccan midfielder Tarik El Janaby hit the net curving a penalty shot.
The lead was doubled in the 76th minute when Haitian Fabrice Noel carried the ball toward the goalmouth and went past Mukti's advancing custodian in the small box to score the match winning goal.
Today's match: Soccer Club, Feni vs. Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society at 4:00 pm, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd vs. Brothers Union Ltd at 6:30 pm at the same venue.
