DU students protest against killing of Sujan in police firing

Students of Marketing Department at Dhaka University (DU) blocked Shahbag intersection on Saturday evening demanding justice over the killing of Sujan Mridha, a student the department was was Killed in police firing during election violence in Madaripur.

The agitated students blocked Shahbag intersection for half an hour from 7pm to 7:30pm, creating huge traffic congestion in the area, said officer-in-charge of Shahbag Police Station Abu Bakar Siddique.

Earlier, the protesters brought out a rally from the foot of Raju Sculpture on the campus premises and paraded towards Shahbag.

Sjuan Mridha, a third year student of Marketing Department, was killed as police opened fire at him while he along with others were allegedly snatching a ballot box during vote counting in Sadar upazila of Madaripur district on Thursday.
