READI (Research Evaluation and Development Initiative) and Banglar Shishu Paribar organised a football talent hunt programme country wide with the help of Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Sports Association and Bangladesh Football Federation to bring back the golden period of football and to fulfil the Football Vision 2022.
In this connection a press meet was held on Monday at the VIP Lounge, National Press Club to brief the details to the media where Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan joy was present and address as chief guest on the occasion while Kazi Akhter Uddin Ahmed secretary for the Youth and Sports, Ashok Kumar Biswas, secretary of Bangladesh Sports Council (NSC), Abu Nayeem Shohag, general secretary of Bangladesh Football Federation were present as special guest. Jewel Mahmood, chairman of READI-Banglar Shishu Pariber presided over the meeting.
The programme titled 'Love Football, Play Football' with a goal to create affection for football in the 10-18 years old child. In this way the quality of football will be improved in long run. Through this programme every year a total of 90 players will be selected fir the greater training.
All the players will be provided long-term training in the country and also in abroad alongside the opportunity to continue their study.
As the part of the programme, Country's 64 districts divided into 11 sectors in three age limits (Ongkur: 10-12 years, Duronto: 13-15 years, Durbar: 16-18 years). Players will be selected after three rounds (Primary, Divisional and National). After judging by renowned coaches and football players 90 players will be selected every year. First year every child between 10-18 years will participate in the programme after the registration through SMS, online and spot registration. The date of registration will be declared after completing the district level press meet through advertisement on the print and electronic media.
