A textile exhibition has been launched in Dhaka in celebration of the 'Bangladesh World Tourism Year 2016'.
US Embassy's Edward M Kennedy (EMK) Center partnered with AJIYER Community-Based Tourism to launch this 10-day exhibition on Monday.
Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Rashed Khan Menon and US Embassy Dhaka Chargé d'Affaires David Meale inaugurated the exhibition.
The launch followed a day-long workshop focusing on regional connectivity through ecotourism and promoting community engagement.
AJIYER connects tourists with Bangladesh's rural activities, including eco-friendly food, weavings, and local crafts.
The exhibition showcases indigo-dyed products, textiles from pineapple fibre, and handicrafts made from bamboo and jute.
This is open for all, the US embassy says.
