Aminul Huq Moni, renowned sports organiser, former general secretary of Bangladesh Cricket Board, former executive member of Bangladesh Chess Federation, permanent member of Dhaka Mohammed Sporting Club Limited, died on Sunday evening at the age of 66.
Aminul Huq Moni breathed his last in a city hospital in Dhaka after a prolonged illness. He was suffering from heart diseases for a long and admitted to the hospital on April 8, 2015.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), all members of the executive committee of Bangladesh Chess Federation, Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM), Bangladesh Sports Journalists Community (BSJC) and others sports organisation expressed their deepest condolence at his premature death and conveyed sympathies to his bereaved family.
Late Aminul Huq had served the BCB as its General Secretary from 1991 to 1996. During his last involvement with the Board from 2009 to 2012, he had held the position of the Chairman of the BCB's Game Development Committee. He was also a former joint secretary of the Board.
