Hasanuzzaman Khan, a doyen of the country's English journalism, was laid to eternal rest after his colleagues, professional disciples and admirers gave him farewell with flowers and tears here on Tuesday.
After his Namaz-e-janaza at Jatiya Press Club (JPC), Hasanuzzaman Khan was buried at Mirpur Intellectuals' Graveyard.
Former managing editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), Hasanuzzaman died of a heart attack at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease here at 4 pm on Monday at the age of 90.
Those who attended the janaza of Hasanuzzaman at Jatiya Press Club placed wreaths on the coffin while JPC senior vice president Kazi Rawnak Hossain and general secretary Syed Abdal Ahmed and colleagues of the deceased and former managing director and chief editor of BSS Amanullah recalled the chequered career of the legendary journalist.
The Namaz-e-Janaza was attended, among others, by Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman, veteran journalist Kamal Lohani, former president of JPC Reaz Uddin Ahmed, president of one faction of BFUJ Shawkat Mahmud, former state minister Deedar Bakth, former deputy minister Fakhrul Islam Munshi, former managing director and chief editor of BSS Azizul Islam Bhuiyan, general secretary of one faction of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) Jahangir Alam Prodhan. ?BSS
