Gaibandha: Two children who received burn injuries in a petrol bomb attack at a bus on Gaibandha-Polashbari road in Sadar upazila last night, died on Saturday morning at Rangpur Medical College Hospital, rising the death toll to six.
Sources said, an 11-year-old Sujan and a woman named Shonabhan succumbed to their injuries at the burn unit of the RMCH around 7:30am.
Earlier on Friday night, the Dhaka-bound Napu Paribahan bus carrying around 55-60 passengers came under attack when it was crossing the Rural Electrification Board office with several vehicles in Tulshighat area around 11:30pm, leaving four dead, including a child, on the spot and 30 others burnt.
The four were identified as--Shilpi, 10, Syed Ali, 42, Halima Begum, 40, and Shobon Mia, 22,
Eleven burn victims were rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital while the rest were taken to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital. Six people with 70 percent burn injuries are in critical condition.
