At least four passengers, including a child, were burnt to death and 30 others burnt in a petrol bomb attack on a bus escorted by police in Gaibandha Sadar upazila.
The Dhaka-bound Napu Paribahan bus carrying around 55-60 passengers came under attack when it was crossing the Rural Electrification Board office with several vehicles in Tulsighat area around 11:30pm on Friday, Sadar Police Station OC Rajiur Rahman said.
“All of the burnt were passengers of the bus. They have been sent to a local hospital first. Of them, 11 were sent to
Rangpur and the others to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital. Some of them are in really bad condition,” he added.
The bus left Sundarganj around 9:30pm.
It left Gaibandha Sadar with several other vehicles escorted by police later on.
