The 8th edition of the CRACK International Art Camp CIAC (CIAC) '14 has started in Smaran Matshya Beej Khamar in Kushtia on 25 December 2014.
Around 30 artists from 6 countries have joined the international art camp. This edition of CIAC is curated by Nilanjana Nandy (India). Participating countries are India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Participating artists are: (from abroad) Ram Maharjan (Nepal), Riti Maharjan (Nepal), Sujan Dangol (Nepal), Anupam Singh (India), Cacilda Esp?ndola (Brazil), Murari Jha (India), Razia Rezaie (Afghanistan), Satadru Sovan Bhanduri(India), Chirantan Mukhopadhyay (India), Gopa Roy (India), Jinal Sangoi (India), Dinesh Ishantha (Sri Lanka), Jinal Patel (India), and several artists from Bangladesh; they are Anadi Boiragi, Kanak Aditya, Mahadi Masud, Tahmina Hafiz Lisa, Polash Chowdhury, Shakti Nomaan, Shaheen Mahmood Reza Rajon, Raihan Rafi, Roksana Amin, Tasnuva Kalam Tonny, Sadika Swarna, Delowar Hossain, Ananta Kumar Das, Tanzim Ahmed Bijoy, Anarja Tapos, ABS Xem and Shawon Akand.
Participating artists are utilising local materials and surrounding environment in their projects. They are now working with this year's Art Camp theme Tapestry of Stories in their site-specific and conceptual artworks. The relationship between their creative thoughts and artistic manifestations will be portrayed with the help of local material and environment in this international art camp.
Last day of the art camp (December 30) will be the open day for all viewers to see the artworks and meet the artists at camp place in Kushtia.
